Mac’s Hertford Castle – Custom Label
A beer celebrating our Hertford home and the family’s arrival in the town in 1790 – with William McMullen establishing himself as a gardener. Within three generations the family moved from labourers in the castle grounds to residents during the brewing boom of the Victorian era. Whole hops are late hopped to add subtlety to a traditional recipe and the liquor (brewers’ water) is drawn from our 140 ft well tapping into the chalk aquifer – just as it has been since 1891.
